Researcher and professor of new media art and digital communication. Cicero coordinates the Software Studies Group in Brazil. Currently he is on the Faculty of the Art and Graduate studies in Communication departments at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF) and is an Associate Researcher at the Center for Research in Computing and the Arts (CRCA) at University of California, San Diego (UCSD). He is author of The Explorers: Open Source and Free Software in Brazil book (with Jane de Almeida, forthcoming from the MIT Press).
